March 29, 2022, saw two big humanitarian organizations sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of forming a partnership to combat the COVID19 pandemic and WASH, HIV/AIDS awareness, and menstrual hygiene management for girls in schools.
The MOU states that amongst others the two organizations will integrate HIV/AIDS into the WASH programs with the aim of reducing the level of vulnerability among people in rural and peri-urban communities.
The two organizations will exchange learning and training platforms to build capacities within the two organizations for effective implementation of WASH initiatives in Lesotho, the MOU stated.
During the signing ceremony, the Secretary-General of LRCS Mr. Kopano Masilo said; ‘We are happy to partner with HFH because it will strengthen our capacity when assisting the most vulnerable communities in Lesotho ‘.
The two organizations will work together to fundraise for community projects aimed t alleviating vulnerability among Basotho, mainly the elderly, people living with disability, and OVCs, says Mr. Masilo.
“LRCS will provide psychosocial support to the beneficiaries selected to receive home intervention”, He added.
“LRCS is very happy to partner with HFH Lesotho which is known for assisting the most vulnerable people”, He concluded.
